Ashley Wertish, OTR/L, CHT

(Occupational Therapist | Certified Hand Therapist)

Ashley has her doctorate in occupational therapy, she is dedicated to helping patients return to their daily occupations. She thrives in the outpatient setting working on mostly orthopedic based injuries. She has experience working in several areas of occupational therapy including: outpatient, skilled nursing facility, pediatrics, and home health. Ashley recently achieved a great accomplishment of completing her CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) in November of 2021 which requires the completion of a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation.

Ashley grew up in Hills, MN on a family farm and developed a great drive to work hard and help others. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from SMSU in Marshall, MN; followed by her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from USD in Vermillion, SD. She then began working at Prairie Rehabilitation in 2015 at our Worthington, MN clinic. While working, Ashley decided to return to school online to accomplish her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree finishing in May 2019. She specializes in shoulder rehabilitation and Upper extremity orthopedic injuries.

Outside of therapy, Ashley enjoys outdoor activities such as daily walks with her husband Tony and dog JD. The couple reside in Hills, MN. She and her husband were married in June of 2021 with plans to start a family. She adores her 3 nephews and spends as much time as able with them. Ashley and her husband enjoy visiting state parks and hiking in their spare time.
