Kendra was born in Sioux Falls but raised on a farm outside of Wolsey, SD until grade school when her family moved to Huron, SD where she lived until she graduated. Following graduation, Kendra attended SDSU in Brookings SD to complete her undergraduate studies with emphasis/minors in Psychology and Spanish. She went on to complete her Masters Degree at the University of North Dakota in 2002. Kendra was fortunate enough to begin working in hand therapy immediately following graduation and successfully obtained her CHT certification while helping establish the hand therapy department at the Orthopedic Institute in 2008. She has over 15 years experience in treating upper extremity disorders/injuries/conditions and continues to enjoy engaging in public speaking and community education opportunities.

Kendra places great emphasis in evaluating all areas of a patient’s life to best identify how to address functional deficits and establish patient focused goals. She has significant interest in evaluating and treating the psychological effects of physical injuries and loss of functional independence. She enjoys establishing personal relationships with her patients while seeing them achieve restoration of function, decreased pain, return to leisure/meaningful activities and improved quality of life.

Outside of work, Kendra loves spending time with family and watching her kids engage in various sporting and extracurricular activities. Her hobbies include yoga, interior decorating / home design and other creative outlets such as painting/art, floral design and photography. She finds nothing more relaxing than being somewhere on a warm sunny beach!
